How to Reset Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for the User?

If the user is lost his QR code and wants a new one, he can reset it and generate a new QR code. To do so, please follow the steps below.eZee Reservation

EZEE RESERVATION:

Path: eZee Reservation -> User



Once you click, you can two options. 1. Reset and 2. Disable



The same feature is implemented on the two more screens.

ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION:

Path: eA Configuration -> User




NEW EXTRANET:

Path: New Extranet -> User





Once you click on the Reset option, the Setup 2FA option will be shown. Then again follow the same steps which are explained earlier. Scan the code using the Authenticator app, type 2FA code and save. 2FA has been reset.

Apart from the beck-end configuration, the Logged-in user can also set up and reset his 2FA from the Absolute Front panel. To do so, please follow the below steps.

Please login to the Absolute Front panel. Click on the Hotel Name available on the right side of the header. You will see a new icon for 2FA.

Please refer to the below screenshot for your reference.



Once you click, the below screen will be visible for the first time.



We prefer Google Authenticator to scan the QR code and follow the instruction which is the same as mentioned in the Absolute/Rise/eR Configuration above in this document.

Once the setup process is completed, the user has to log out and try to log in again. The user has to enter a 2FA code to login into the system.

How to Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

To enable this feature, please follow the below steps.

EZEE RESERVATION:

Path: eZee Reservation -> Settings -> Security Settings





Once it is enabled, the hotelier must activate it for the particular user. So, for the activation, follow the below steps shown in the screenshot.

Path: eZee Reservation -> Users



Once you click, the below screen will be visible for the first time.




ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION:

Path: eA Configuration -> Settings -> Security Settings




Once it is enabled, follow the below steps.

Path: eA Configuration -> User



Once you click, below screen will be visible for the first time.



NEW EXTRANET:

Path: New Extranet -> User Module




Once you click, the below screen will be visible for the first time.



We prefer Google Authenticator to scan the QR code. Once users scan the QR code, they can see a random number that will be shown on the Authenticator App. Type that number in the 2FA Code in the input and save it. If they insert the wrong code, it won’t allow saving. 

Once the activation process is completed, the user has to logout and try to login again. Once he adds a username, password and hotel code, he will see the below screen.




Once he adds the correct code, then he can see the below options and be able to login into the product.

How to Disable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Partially/Completely?

If the hotelier wants to disable 2FA for any user, he can do it using the below screen.

EZEE RESERVATION:

Path: eZee Reservation -> User Module



Once you click, you can two options. 1. Reset and 2. Disable



The same feature is implemented on the two more screens.

ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION:

Path: eA Configuration -> Users




NEW EXTRANET:

Path: New Extranet -> Users




Once you select Disable, save it and then logout and login again. You can see that the new 2FA authentication won’t come once you logged in.

How to completely turn off MFA

Due to some reason, hoteliers don’t want to use 2FA and want to stop the feature, they don’t need to go on the User module and deactivate it one by one for all Users. Then just follow the steps below.

EZEE RESERVATION:

eZee Reservation -> Settings -> Security Settings



ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION:

eA Configuration -> Settings -> Security Settings


Select No option and save it. 2FA is disabled entirely for that property.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Security Settings can be accessed and modified by admin user only.

Only admin user can have both disable and reset options in 2FA configuration. The rest of the users can only have the reset 2FA option of their own.
