eZee Optimus Release

PIN login

Introducing a new feature “PIN Login” where the user can log in into the system with their unique PIN number.

A unique 4 digit PIN number can be configured for all user from the back office.

A user can log in with this PIN without using username and password.

Note: After 3 unsuccessful PIN login attempts in a row, the system will disable PIN login option for that restaurant.

To enable PIN Login, Go to: Back Office -> Settings -> General Settings

Filter reports by session

Now you can filter sales records by Session in Sales Detail and Sales Summary reports. You also get an option to get sales analytics by sessions in Sales By Variable report.

Order list filtering redefined

We have introduced a new way to filter orders by status on Order Summary screen.

Also, added ‘all’ tab for grouping all orders regardless of their status.

Activate/Deactivate Order Types

You can now de-activate and activate the order types your restaurant takes.

Freeze/unfreeze items on-the-go

Now, from item lookup screen, the items can be frozen and unfrozen with a reason.

When ordering a frozen item, the system will intimate user about the reason and ask for confirmation before ordering that item.

Sequence number for orders

Introducing a setting to use the sequential numbering system for orders instead of auto-generated order numbers.

Suppress tags having no value in Receipt/KOT

Now, in printing template, a new configuration setting called ‘Suppress when the embedded field has a no value’ is introduced. When configured, the line/information with tags having no value will be hidden from the receipt/KOT when printing the template.

Also, with new tags {outletname} and {ordertype}Outlet Name and Order Type, values can be printed in the template’s header section.

New shift privileges for restaurant manager

Now, your restaurant manager can control all cashier shifts by himself.

A new privilege called ‘Can Manage Shift’ will restrict the cashier whether he/she can start/stop shift for themselves.

The manager can start/end shift and can print shift reports using this module.

Moreover, he can send an alert to the cashier to log out from the system if he/she is logged in.

Tax exemption on discount

In the discount configuration, we have introduced an option for whether the tax should be exempted or not when the selected discount is applied.

City ledger payment voucher number

Now, a sequence number for city ledger account payment can be configured.

You can also print the Payment Receipt Voucher from the cashiering screen.

Percent-wise extra charge

Introducing Percent-wise Extra Charge option for Extra Charges.

With this setup, the extra charge will be automatically calculated based on the final ordered item value.

Day-close intimation

Now, when the day-close process is initiated, all logged-in users will get an intimation about it, asking them to stop all operations and log-out.

You’ll be able to setup different dine-in rates of the menu items as per the floors in your restaurant.

Reason for order cancellation

The system will now ask for a reason when canceling any order at any time, to ensure the authenticity of the cancellation.

Often times, your staff may be canceling orders in the system. You may or may not know the reason behind it, making it difficult for you to track them.

This setting will be able to control such operations. The system will ask a reason for cancellation and record it. Further, based on the audit logs, you’ll be able to keep an eye on any stealings or wastage.

Choice for modifier/toppings

With this enhancement, your staff will be able to add more specific information on modifiers and toppings for kitchen base as per the guest’s choice.

Manager/Supervisor password

This is to facilitate proper auditing and a secure process for managers and supervisors to perform operations on behalf of users.

But naturally, you can’t give an access to perform void operations or give discounts to every user because of the security aspect. However, they may need to be performed daily. But these operations are required to perform by users in day to day operation.

So, with this feature, the manager/supervisor will be able to process these operations on users’ behalf, without actually logging in to the system. They can use their exclusive privileges to perform these operations safely.

Surcharge on settlement

The system will now automatically apply surcharge depending on the orders, during settlement.

Often, you may need to process an additional charge at the time of settlement. It may be a credit card processing charge or bank/3rd party charges.

The configured charge will be automatically applied to all orders with this feature when settling.

Go To: Back Office > Master > Payment

At the time of settlement, the system asks for confirmation.

Guest information on settlement

Your cashiers can fill in guest information from the settlement screen itself in Takeaway operation mode.

Previously this option was only available at the order start screen and the ordering screen.

Auto log off for Multi-user mode

We have added one more functionality to perform smooth operations in case of the shared terminals.

With this option, your waiters can use a shared machine to take orders. Once they login into the system, the system redirects to their preferred operation screen like Dine-In, Take-Away or Room-Service.  Once they complete the order operation, the system will log off automatically.

Detailed Audit Trail for Tax Group and Settings

This time, we have implemented an option to trace modification of tax group and settings.

Go to: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Master -> Tax Group -> Audit Trail

Reset Receipt Number

Sometimes F&B businesses may need to reset receipt sequence number. With this option, you can reset receipt number as per your need.

Go To: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Master -> Outlet -> Next Receipt Number

Open Item

Seldom, your customer may ask you for an item which is not available in your menu. This new feature of “Open Item” provides you a facility to ask for Item Name at the time of order or modify it later. This modified name will be displayed in Order Screen, receipt and kitchen order ticket (KOT) only.

Daily Flash Report

We have added a new report named “Daily Flash” in Statistical Report section. This report provides an eagle view of day to day operations, which helps you get analytical information.

Bulk Order Settlement

During rush hours or maybe some other reason, the cashier may need to leave orders in the running mode. To settle those orders, we have added a functionality in Order Summary to settle multiple orders at a time.

Day Close

Introducing a new feature of “Day Close”, to audit and freeze order transactions for a particular day and get summarized and in-depth audited data. We have also added privileges to restrict users to modify past-day transactions.

Shift Management

Introducing new feature of “Shift Management”, to manage cashier operations.

Table Arrangement

Previously table order sequence was based on table name only. Now, you can arrange a sequence which is easy to operate as per your convenience.

Identify Room Number in Order Summary

To easily identify Room Orders, we have added room number information in Order Summary List for Room Service Orders.

Additional information in Room Service

We have now included “Room Type” and “Rate Type” information in Room Service Order type, which helps a user take a glance at the room details before posting charges to the folio.

We have added one more column “Ordered Time” in Menu Item Sales Detail report to track the taken in preparing an order.

Detailed Shift Report

Now, the cashier at your property will be able to check his shift’s Pay-In, Pay-Out, and Safe-Drop transaction details in Shift Report.

‘Print Detail’ option is available at eZee Optimus Frontend -> Shift Managment Screen.

Consolidated Reports for Sales/Revenue

We have provided an option to select multiple outlets on various reports. You’ll also be able to get consolidated data on report for selected outlets.

This option is available in Menu Item Sales Summary, Sales Summary, Payment Summary, Tax Collection report.

Audit Trail Log in Back-Office

Investigating configuration modifications information is now available in eZee Optimus back-office. In this information, you can check who created a particular entry and when it’s modified.

Thus, you can easily communicate with your team about the modifications.

Click on “Link Icon” on any master screen to get this information.

Enhanced Modifier Settings

We’ve introduced a new setting for modifier called “force modifier”. This setting gives flexibility to a user for modifier selection.

Many items may have on-demand modifier or add-ons. In other words, modifiers are not always mandatory. With this setting, you can configure such menu items like Icecream, which may or may not have some add-ons, which a waiter can select as per customer’s demand.

‘Force Modifier’ setting prompts a user to choose a modifier at the time of ordering an Item. Or, a waiter can apply it later from item modification.

Go to: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Item -> Add/Edit -> Add/Edit Modifier

Discount Visibility Settings

You can now make a discount visible as per the various visibility settings available in eZee Optimus.

This setting provides authority to a cashier to offer the right discount at the right time.

Happy Hours and Seasonal Rates

We’ve added the most awaiting feature “Session Rates” in eZee Optimus. Using this, you’ll be able to set seasons or happy hours session without making any changes in the current menu. Base on a setting, eZee Optimus will apply the configured rate when an item is ordered.

Configure Session

Go to: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Menu -> Session,  to add a new session. Here different options are available to define a session.

Name: Name of the session for identification.

Outlet: Select outlet in which you want to use this session.

Start date/End date: Choose date if you want the session to be in effect on a particular date range, otherwise leave it blank.

Active Time: Time settings when you want to start this session. Keep 00:00-23:59 if it’s a full day session.

Inactive days: To disable the session on a particular day.

Rates Mapping to Session

Go to: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Master -> Outlet -> Price Settings. These setting give an option to a select order type wise rate for a particular session.

Floor Arrangement

You can now change the display order of the floors at your restaurant in eZee Optimus.

Go to: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Menu -> Table Management -> Floor

Set default payment methods

We have added a facility to configure default payment method for different ordering modes.

Go To: eZee Optimus Back Office -> Outlet -> Order Type Settings

Seek Item By Item Code/SKU

This feature provides a flexibility to find an item by Item Code/SKU on the ordering screen.

Item Group

This option facilitates to group same nature items in one. Eg. When bar items are configured with different portions like Vodka 30ml, Vodka 60ml, and such likes, to record proper sales.

With the group item feature, all the items will be displayed as a single item in the ordering screen and at that time, you can choose a specific item from configured items.

  1. Create Item Group from eZee Optimus Back Office -> Menu -> Item Group
  2. Add Item Group in Menu from Back Office -> Menu Management -> Menu Configuration
  3. Select particular Menu Group and Menu Subgroup by clicking it, then select Item Group from Add Item option.
  4. Click Item Group to add an item to a particular group.
  5. At the time of ordering, you will be prompted to choose an item.

Network Printer

Now, eZee Optimus is integrated with Ethernet Thermal Printer, meaning that you can print directly from any device without installing any driver or application. eZee Optimus can work with any Ethernet or WiFi printer which are compatible with ESC/POS command.

Configure Printer

Open Terminal Device Mapping from:

eZee Optimus Back Office -> Settings -> Terminal -> Device Mapping

Choose Connection Type – Ethernet from the drop-down list and configure network printer IP Address and Port number (Check printer manual to get/configure IP address and Port).
